Welcome to Shillington Men's Club

A relaxed and informal social club for local men and their partners established over 20 years ago

WELCOME

Shillington Men’s Club was formed in January 2005 by four men from the village. We are a thriving social club for local men, and also welcome partners at many of our events. Since its inception the club has steadily grown and we are now proud to have over 40 members.

We are a friendly and informal club, where you can enjoy a relaxed atmosphere and good conversation. Our Events Co-ordinator ensures that all members are fully informed about our many meet-ups, which you can view on the What’s On page.

Our Events

Each month we enjoy a meal together in a local pub. At the meal we hold a no-obligation raffle from which 50% of the collection goes to the lucky winner, with the rest going in our Charity Fund. We select a different charity to support each year and donate this fund to them.

We also organise monthly day outings to places of interest. Previously we have visited Bletchley Park, the British School Museum, the Lockheed Martin facility, The Shuttleworth Collection and RAF Henlow to name a few. Take a look at our photos on the Gallery page.

From time to time we host various interesting visiting speakers to join us, providing an opportunity to learn something new too.

No, we don’t have any age limitations. Whilst many of our members are retired, we also have several who are currently of working age.

There is a one-off joining fee of £5.00 and an annual membership fee of £15.00. We invite you to come along to one of our events and give us a try with no obligation, before you make a decision about officially joining. Simply let us know to expect you!

That’s no problem at all, as we provide transport to all events on a car-share basis. Just let us know your needs in advance. Also let us know if you do drive and can volunteer to help.

Yes definitely! The club is organised by a hardworking group of eight committee members, who are elected to serve for a 12 month period each January at our AGM. Plus there may be opportunities to help out at the various events we are involved in, such as Shillingfest.

Yes, we are on Facebook (click here to find us). Our page will keep you updated about all of the forthcoming events and you can contact us there too.
